Why book an appointment?
An appointment helps me get to know you so that I can prescribe the right plants for your constitution, personality, and condition – I need to get to know you to recommend the right plants to support you.
Plants do not treat disease but rather work in each individual situation and condition to encourage a state of optimal health. This is often done over time (sometimes years), and usually takes more than one bottle of tincture or one pot of tea.
Herbs are part of a healthy lifestyle, so you will need to put on the kettle, steep the herbs daily, boil the roots, take the tincture, or apply the salve regularly in order to see the full benefit.
Herbal therapies act more like foods than they do like drugs – they act to support the health of the body, mind and spirit – naturally.
Please note that herbal medicine is not a replacement for medical care, but is an adjunctive and collaborative care strategy to support well being, prevention, and recovery, and is used in parallel to medical and/or alternative care. As an Herbalist, I am not able to diagnose disease or make recommendations about pharmaceutical medications that are prescribed by your primary physician. Of course, anything you put into your body is your sole and individual choice to do so.
INITIAL CONSULTATION + FOLLOW UP (New clients welcome) – CAD$120
The initial consultation consists of an in-depth interview and review of bodily systems, including presenting complaint, relevant symptoms, signs, family and medical history. It may include physical examinations where necessary. Herbal, diet and lifestyle recommendations are provided in writing, as well as any prescribed herbal preparations (tinctures, teas, salves, etc). An intake checklist and informed consent form is required listing all medications/supplements and relevant medical history. All consultations are fully confidential and private. Included in the initial booking is a free follow up call/email to answer any questions and to gauge compliance and suitability of the herbs. (30 mins)
Please note the cost of any herbal products is in addition to the initial consultation fee of CAD$120 (90 mins).
